“I met Andrea Pazienza in 1973 and we have been friends ever since. At twenty I believed I was a photographer and he believed he was a genius (something he soon convinced me of). These photos were born on the wave of that youthful passion, taken between 1979 and 1986 in San Menaio, where we met every summer. Images that were always and only the fruit of fun, without any technical preparation. Everything was left to the inspiration of the moment and to Andrea’s narcissism, as he gladly offered himself to my lens. There are people who, because of their uniqueness, you can meet only once in a lifetime; we often keep looking for their traces in ancient places and in our memory because their absence is unbearable to us. For me this collection of photos is an act of love and gratitude toward Andrea.”
